Martin Heath Appointed Elite Performance Coach

We are very pleased to let you know that following the recent recruitment campaign Martin Heath has been confirmed as _38152316_heath150Scottish Squash Elite Performance Coach to support the elite players and lead us in the campaign for success at the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast in 2018 and beyond.

Martin was interviewed yesterday evening by a team consisting of Calum Wood, High Performance Manager Sportscotland Institute for Sport, Bob Easson and Maggie Still. There were a number of extremely strong candidates for the role, however as Calum observed, Martin was clearly the strongest and a great fit for Scottish Squash.

Martin will be in Scotland from 25th June to continue his work with the Elite players and focus on the Doubles training in the run up to the World Doubles in Darwin in August and as part of the longer term Doubles strategy for 2018.

Bob Easson said: “I am delighted with the appointment of Martin Heath as Elite Performance Coach. His World Class credentials, along with Paul Bell our National Coach will provide a very strong coaching team to lead us towards Goldcoast in 2018 and beyond.

We look forward to the experience he will bring to the Programme.”

I’m glad to hear people raising awareness for professional coaching! I’ve actually embarked on a similar journey myself with a fantastic Mentor from Lisnic.com and I’m so excited to see where it takes me.
