Scottish Squash are the national governing body for squash in Scotland and are looking for the right individual to join the executive team as Membership Engagement Officer.

Scottish Squash’s strategy has the squash clubs and facilities across Scotland at its core, and Scottish Squash recognise the importance of putting the players and members at the heart of all that we do. The Membership Engagement Officer will play an integral part of that role and offers a unique opportunity for the post holder to utilise and develop their skills and experience in sports development to benefit the national governing body’s work across all of its pathways.

The Membership Engagement Officer is a key member of the Scottish Squash staff team, looking to engage, grow and enhance the membership services available for all member clubs and facilities, and individual subscribers across squash in Scotland. The post holder will be responsible for delivering all member/subscriber communications and for supporting the membership (clubs & subscribers) to fully utilise the membership services. They will promote the work of the membership; recognising, rewarding and celebrating success across squash in Scotland.

Additionally, the Membership Engagement Officer has a key role to play, working alongside colleagues and partners, to enhance membership experience to increase growth and capacity across all levels of the sport. They will promote and encourage the membership to engage with the opportunities available on the workforce and player pathway. This provides a great opportunity for the post holder to utilise past experience and gain further knowledge across the various people development pathways of a national governing body for sport.

Job Title:                            Membership Engagement Officer

Reports to:                        Club Development Manager

Contract type:                   Permanent

Location:                             Edinburgh (Oriam, Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, EH14 4AS)

This post is appropriate for a home working request to be made. Any home working arrangements would be agreed by the post holder’s line manager. The administrative base, for the purposes of expenses and travel claims, is the Scottish Squash HQ (currently located at the address below) but this can be negotiated with the post holder’s line manager.

Salary:                                  SSL Grade 4: £28,117 per year

Position type:                    Full time (1.0 FTE)

Hours:                                  37.5 hours per week (flexible working)

Creating and developing more opportunities for young people and women and girls to experience squash and progress within the sport is a key priority for Scottish Squash. The Club Development Officer plays an important role to continue to develop opportunities within these priority areas.
