Are you passionate about squash?

Could you use your skills and enthusiasm to inspire a new generation of Squash Activators driving the growth of the game in their community?

We are launching a new Squash Activator course in 2026-27, with a view to training keen squash players, parents and volunteers to help a new generation of players into squash.

These are practical, hands-on, entry-level workshops, focused on confidence and engagement rather than formal coaching theory.

About the role

Tutors will deliver Activator courses in their region, giving squash players and enthusiasts:

  • Build confidence to support coach-led sessions
  • Learn how to introduce beginners in a fun, engaging way
  • Develop the skills to take squash into local communities

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a hands-on role in developing squash across Scotland – one player at a time.

What we’re looking for

Ideal tutors for the Activator course will:

  • Be engaging, friendly and confident in delivery to groups
  • Be reflective and committed to continuous development
  • Be passionate about growing squash in Scotland
  • Attend annual tutor standardisation day
  • Be willing to complete sportscotland tutor training

You don’t need to be an elite player – if you know the basics and are comfortable with a racket, we’d love to hear from you, whether you’ve been playing for months or years.

You can read a more detailed job description and person specification at the bottom of the page.

Applicants will be invited for an online chat to assess suitability and ensure appropriate numbers across regions on an ongoing basis, and the application form may close early if a sufficient number of tutors is found.

Locations

We are looking for at least one tutor in each of the following regions:

  • Central
  • East
  • Grampian
  • Highlands and Islands
  • Tayside and Fife
  • West

Subject to the number of applications and geographical spread of tutors, groupings may change, for example by combining neighbouring regions.

Training and support

Successful tutors will be expected to attend a development day in Glasgow on Saturday 18th July, full details to be confirmed in due course.

What you’ll get

  • Paid opportunities to deliver Squash Activator courses, more details in the dropdown below.
  • Ongoing development and support.
  • The chance to make a real impact on the growth of squash in Scotland and in your community.
