Director of Squash Paul Bell is encouraging youngers to get creative off-court as they await a return to action.
Scottish Squash are looking for kids (under-18) to design a brand new mascot, with the winning drawing set to inspire the Governing Bodies official mascot.
The mascot will then be showcased at the 2021 Springfield Scottish Squash Open, taking place at Inverness Tennis and Squash Club from the 22 – 26 September.
Paul said: “Squash is a really creative sport and trying to encourage creativity within the junior game is always a good thing, particularly just now.
“Looking back at my time as a junior player, I remember entering all these different mascot competitions and it was great fun.
“It’s easy to forget that this kind of thing can really capture the imagination of youngers and that’s what we are trying to do here.
“Hopefully it will get them enthused about getting back on to court soon.”
Competition entries will be judged by a panel that includes some of Scotland’s professional squash players.

The competition closes on Wednesday, 31st March 2021, so no time to lose!

This year’s prize fund for the Springfield Scottish Squash Open of $20,000 will be equally split between male and female players.
And Paul Bell says it will be a big goal for many squash professionals across the country after so long away from competitive action.
He added: “Hopefully there will be events beforehand but having such a significant PSA Tour event in Scotland will certainly be one for them to target.
“Investing in these events in Scotland shows our commitment to the sport and I’m looking forward to it already.”
The 2021 Scottish Squash Open is heading to the Highlands thanks to the support of Springfield Properties, one of the country’s leading private and affordable housebuilders.
