Women and Girls Coaching Network Regional Gatherings calendar announced
We are delighted to announce a series of Women and Girls Coaching Network Gatherings taking place across Scotland during 2026/27.
Following the successful launch of the network in 2025, we are keen to support women and girls in their own club environments across every region of Scotland.
These free sessions are open to women and girls (16+) at all stages of their coaching journey, from those with years of experience to those thinking about starting their first coaching qualification.
Attendees will have the opportunity to develop their coaching confidence and knowledge with Club Development Officer (Women and Girls) and Scotland international player Ellie Jones.
What to expect
In highly practical session, participants will have the chance to:
- Develop confidence and knowledge in drills and skill development for the level of player they work with
- Discuss technique and coaching points to help players get maximum enjoyment from their time on court
- Share hints and tips, concerns and challenges with a supportive community of peers.
The sessions have been organised in partnership with regions across Scotland, all of which share our ambition to support and grow the number of female coaches across the country.
These Gatherings follow a successful pilot event held in the East region in April, with all attendees that filled in the feedback form indicating that they would attend the event again.

Why do we need a Women and Girls Network?
Fewer than 15% of active licensed coaches are female, despite women and girls making up 25% of the player base.
Additionally, there are no female coaches currently supporting the Performance Pathway and Academy squads.
The network aims to address these imbalances by:
- Boosting coaching confidence in women and girls
- Building a strong, supportive community of female coaches
- Sharing opportunities, updates and inspiration across the network
