Since the return of unrestricted squash across Scotland for all age groups, it has been great to see players return to squash courts across the country. As clubs and facilities continue to support the return of all activities, we’re preparing to support the full reintroduction of competitions and work towards re-establishing the national competition pathway at all ages and levels.

The BounceBack competition programme continues to encourage players back to competition across the junior, senior and masters game and this level of competition will be available for clubs and facilities to deliver until at least the end of December 2021. If you are interested in delivering a BounceBack sanctioned competition please see the additional information here.

Additionally, we recognise that as restrictions have eased throughout the summer and as more players return to court the BounceBack competition programme does not offer the full range of competition experience. Therefore, we’re planning to reintroduce larger and more structured competitions to act both as test competitions for organisers and also to link to important international selections that are approaching.

We plan to work closely with partners to deliver these competitions to be able to share learning ahead of transitioning back to the national competition pathway in early 2022.

The first of these competitions will be a senior competition taking place on the 30th – 31st October at Oriam; Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. This competition will offer a men’s and women’s category with the men’s competition serving as a Scotland selection competition ahead of the WSF World Team Championships due to take place in December. Entries for this competition are open via SportyHQ.

The following junior and masters level test series competitions have now been confirmed. Look out for entries opening soon.

  • Newlands Masters Open – Test Series: Saturday 20th – Sunday 21st November: Newlands Lawn Tennis Club, Glasgow
  • Junior Test Competition – Test Series: Saturday 11th – Sunday 12th December: Oriam, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh
