H//T Squash – Beginner ladies sessions across Scotland

H//T Squash is back and getting under way at clubs across Scotland! The programme aims to encourage more women and girls to give squash a go, showing that it doesn’t always have to be about competition. Sessions are delivered by trained Activators, who will be on hand to guide and support those trying squash for the very first time. Blending the fundamentals of squash with high-intensity exercise, each session is designed to be enjoyable and sociable, offering a great workout as well as the chance to meet new people. Participating clubs will be launching their six-week programme of one-hour sessions over the coming weeks.

Following a recent training day where the six Activators came together to learn the H//T Squash course content, they are now eager to roll out their lively and fast-paced sessions. Activator Mhairi Klein has already kicked things off at Abercorn Squash Club in Edinburgh, with two weekly sessions available on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, where early feedback from participants has been extremely positive.

Bridge of Allan Sports Club will soon be launching its own sessions, led by Sophie Thomas. With a strong and growing junior membership already in place, the club is hopeful that even more women and girls will soon be inspired to get involved.

H//T Squash will be delivered in clubs across every corner of Scotland, with Activators representing five regions nationwide. Tayside and Fife will be covered by Forthill Squash Club in Dundee, while Scottish Squash Rackets Club (SSRC) in Glasgow will represent the West. Sutherland Squash Club in Dornoch will lead activity in the Highlands and Islands, with Bridge of Allan Sports Club covering the Central region. In the East, Abercorn Squash Club will be joined by both Watsonians Squash Club and Oriam Squash Club, also based in Edinburgh.
