WSF & PSA Launch World Squash Officiating

Last week The World Squash Federation (WSF) and the Professional Squash Association (PSA) jointly launched World Squash Officiating (WSO), an online education and appraisal portal designed to standardise officiating qualifications worldwide. Full details of the launch can be found on The World Squash Federation website by clicking here.

WSO has been launched with the aim of creating a worldwide standard in refereeing and a clear referee pathway. Anyone wishing to improve their knowledge of the sport can access a host of resources such as in-depth articles and presentations on rules as well as a comprehensive video library from the SQUASHTV archives which explains previous decisions made by referees on the PSA World Tour.

Scottish Squash welcome this programme developed by the WSF and PSA and look forward to working in partnership with them to implement the WSO framework across Scotland and drive a strategy to increase the quality and quantity of officials within squash in Scotland. The initial priority for Scottish Squash will be to focus on transitioning current registered referees across to the new framework before moving on to implement a strategy to develop new referees. Scottish Squash will be in touch with all registered referees shortly to start this process.

For more information on WSO, please visit the WSO website or contact us to discuss further.
