Scottish Squash Invites Community to Shape New Strategy
As Scottish Squash prepares to launch its new strategic plan at the beginning of next year, it is encouraging as many members as possible from across the squash community to engage with its ‘Rally Your Voice’ consultation campaign, to help shape the new strategy and future of squash.
The consultation will launch with a series of focus group sessions, to be held at squash clubs across the country and online throughout November and December. This is an invitation for the Scottish Squash community to provide feedback on the sport’s development, with the first session taking place next week in Aberdeen.
Scottish Squash CEO Paul Macari said, “With participation across Scotland continuing to grow, our next four-year strategy gives us a real opportunity to build on that momentum. Our new strategy needs to be shaped by the people who make the sport what it is: players, coaches, volunteers and clubs.
“Our Town Hall sessions across the country are your opportunity to tell us what’s working, what needs to change and where Scottish Squash should focus. That could mean growing our clubs, opening the game up to more people, or developing players who can compete on the international stage. Whether you’ve played for decades or have just picked up a racket, your views matter, and I’d love to see you there.”
Key themes will then be identified from the feedback which will shape questionnaires for targeted groups, as the second stage of the consultation. Rally Your Voice will actively encourage members, clubs and participants to engage with the questionnaires, allowing for their voices to be heard.
Findings from the focus groups and questionnaires will be presented at January’s Club Conference – the first of its kind for Scottish Squash.
The conference will provide an opportunity to bring together key members of the squash community to explore the emerging themes and help shape the future direction of the sport.
It is imperative that community and member voices are reflected in the consultation, as Scottish Squash aims to keep its people at the heart of its decision-making. The consultation allows for a unique opportunity to receive focused feedback from the squash community and these voices, insights and lived experiences are crucial to strengthening the sport and enabling its development.
Scottish Squash urges everyone to get involved in the focus group sessions. You do not need to register to attend, simply come along to join your local town hall discussion. However, you are still welcome to record your attendance via this form.
