Calling the Shots Markers Awareness Course to launch in Scotland

Scottish Squash is delighted to announce the launch of the Calling the Shots Markers Awareness workshops in Scotland for season 2025/26.

The workshop helps players develop a stronger understanding of the rules of squash, and gain confidence in marking matches at tournaments and in regional leagues.

Delivered by a fully insured and trained tutor, each session is fun, engaging and social, with video-based decisions included to spark discussion and support learning.

As part of the rollout, trial sessions were held at clubs across Scotland in season 2024/25, and the feedback from participants was strong:

• 100% felt more confident about refereeing squash matches after completing the workshop
• 100% enjoyed the Calling the Shots trial workshop
• 100% would encourage their own club to run a Calling the Shots workshop

One participant commented: “This was a very useful session, and I will feel much more confident refereeing my next match and beyond.”
