Safeguarding Training

Scottish Squash puts on safeguarding courses every year for members and clubs at a discounted rate.

Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport (CWPS)

The Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport (CWPS) training is mandatory training developed by SportScotland and Children 1st. The training will provide you with the knowledge on child wellbeing and protection that will give you the confidence to deal with issues that may arise in your role working with children.

Scottish Squash requires all volunteers/coaches (16+) working with U18s in a sport delivery role to undertake this training. It is also a mandatory part of the Coach License for anyone coaching U18s. This training must be renewed every three years.

To book a CWPS course please see the list of upcoming courses on the SportScotland website.

CWPS Renewal Award

Is your CWPS certificate about to expire? If yes, then you are eligible for Renewal award. If no, then wait until it is about to expire and then start the renewal process. To check your certificate login to your Brightspace account.

To complete the renewal award you must self register on the SportScotland website. This is a self-directed online course to allow you to build on your CWPS knowledge. This award is valid for three years after which time you need to attend the full CWPS training again.

Child Wellbeing and Protection Officer (CWPO) Training is suitable for individuals responsible for leading their club or organisation in the wellbeing and protection of children and young people. Learners will have the opportunity to develop knowledge of the roles and responsibilities associated with child wellbeing and protection.

You must have a valid CWPS certificate to be able to register for this course.
