Inverness set for three days of top-class squash as players battle for national titles

The Highland capital is set for a feast of top-class squash as the DYNAMIK Scottish Senior National Championships 2025 takes place in Inverness this weekend.

There will be significant home interest as Scotland’s number one – world number 19 – Greg Lobban returns to the club where he first picked up a squash racket.

Joining Greg in the draw will be several squad members from this year’s European Team Championships, including Scotland number two Rory Stewart, Alasdair Prott and Rory Richmond.

In the women’s draw, Scotland’s top female player Georgia Adderley has scaled new heights in the world rankings, reaching a career high of 22 in recent weeks, and will aim to defend her national title to crown an impressive season.

Alison Thomson and Ellie Jones will look to build on their strong showings at the European Team Championships and push Georgia all the way in the women’s round-robin.

A total of 24 players will compete across the men’s and women’s draws, with a £3,800 prize fund boosted by sponsor DYNAMIK Sports Floors, up for grabs across the men’s and women’s draws.

The competition gets underway on Friday at 3pm, with matches scheduled on Saturday and the finals taking centre stage from 2pm on Sunday.

Entry is free, with spectators welcome to head along to Inverness Tennis and Squash Club to watch the top-class sporting action.

Scottish Squash CEO Paul Macari said: “The DYNAMIK Scottish Senior National Championships are a fantastic showcase for Scotland’s top squash players.

“With Inverness’ strong squash pedigree, we are delighted to be returning to the Highlands, where so many of the country’s top players first tried squash.

“It promises to be a great event with a big prize fund up for grabs, and an opportunity for Scotland’s best squash players to battle it out for the sport’s biggest domestic prize.”
