Garry McKay, Chief Operating Officer, to leave Scottish Squash
After more than 8 years of dedicated service, Chief Operating Officer Garry McKay will be leaving Scottish Squash.
Garry was originally appointed as Head of Operations in 2017, before his role evolved to Chief Operating Officer in 2019, latterly serving as Interim CEO from October 2024 to March this year,
During his time with Scottish Squash, Garry was instrumental in strengthening and professionalising the organisation.
He provided a steady hand and strong leadership during the Covid pandemic, and his commitment to supporting and developing staff created a culture of continuous improvement.
Many of those he mentored over the years have made a significant impact in squash, and across Scotland’s wider sporting eco-system.
Paul Macari, Scottish Squash CEO said: “On behalf of everyone at Scottish Squash, I want to thank Garry for his eight years of hard work and dedication.
“His operational expertise played a vital role in safeguarding the organisation during the unprecedented challenge of a global pandemic, and his contributions as Interim CEO ensured we remained on a strong footing, and in a strong position to continue driving the growth of squash in the years ahead.
“It has been a pleasure to work with him, both during my time as Chair and now CEO, and on behalf of the board and colleagues past and present, I wish him every success for the future.”
Today marks Garry’s final day with Scottish Squash.
