WORLD DEAF SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIP 2014

Team Scotland consisting of Gerry Gemmell, Eric Stevenson, Mike Halpin and the ageless Bernard Starkey; returned from the World Deaf Squash Championships in Holland with a creditable third place in the team event.

Players and teams from South Africa, Canada, Holland, England and Scotland took part in the competition which was held in Ede, Holland. With only one defeat in the team competition, second place would have been achieved bar for the unique scoring system implemented by the Dutch organisation.

There were excellent personal performances from Eric Stevenson and Mike Halpin to match the team effort.

Scotland now have the 2016 event in Durban, South African to prepare and look forward too
