Rory Stewart (Creiff) maintained his excellent start to the season by winning his second title and first ever senior ranking event when he upset his higher rated opponent, Chris Leiper (Aberdeen), 3/1 in the final of the Grampian Ranking and Junior B event played at Aberdeen Squash & Racketball Club on Sunday, 21 September.
Having recently moved to Edinburgh to study and now training daily with the SSRL Performance Programme at Heriot-Watt University, Rory played solidly to defeat Michael Ross (winner of the East senior ranking event) and long-time junior rival, Fergus Richards, before his excellent win over Chris.
Richard Hollins (Aberdeen) was another surprise winner in Division 2, beating Jason Lang (Paisley) 3/0, while Mike Hegarty (Aberdeen) secured another event for the host club with a 3/0 win over Claire Gadsby (Crieff) in the Division 3 final. Jack Orr (Crieff) won Division 4 beating Katriona Allen 3/1, Thomas Marshall (Shetland) claimed Division 5 over Robbie Harper (Dunblane), Fraser Laing (Bridge of Allan) beat Finlay Martin in Division 6 and Euan Booker-Milburn (Nairn) won Division 7 from Cameron Lawrence (Aberdeen).
