‘Going for Gold’ Club Junior Development Programme – Supported by Springfield Properties
Introduction/The Opportunity
The aim of the ‘Going for Gold – Club Junior Development Programme’ is to establish a sustainable introductory junior development programme by providing free squash coaching. The programme is only available for Scottish Squash member clubs who currently do not offer any junior coaching.
The investment is designed to help clubs with ambition to make a step change in their delivery through targeted resources which would not otherwise be available, professionalising their coaching infrastructure over a 2-year period.
We want to support clubs to sustainably grow the active junior membership of their club, consequently increasing the opportunities they offer and the number of young people taking part in squash.
Investment
Year 1:
- £6,000 per club will be available for coach delivery at the rate of £15.00 per hour. This will allow a club to deliver 400 hours of free junior development in year 1.
- One fully funded place on the Scottish Squash Level 1 Coaching Course.
- Fully funded Scottish Squash CPD training.
Year 2:
- £3,000 per club will be available for coach delivery at the rate of £15.00 per hour. This will support the sustained delivery of 400 hours of junior development in year 2. (The club will be required to fund the remaining £3,000 through increased membership and other revenue streams.)
- One fully funded place on the Scottish Squash Level 1 Coaching Course.
- Fully funded Scottish Squash CPD training.
Year 3:
- No financial support. (The club will be required to fund the 400 hours of junior development at a minimum of £15.00 per hour)
- One fully funded place on the Scottish Squash Level 2 Coaching Course.
- Fully funded Scottish Squash CPD training.
Our approach to investment will be for the club and its partners to outline what they can bring to the project to support the Scottish Squash investment.
Application Process
The investment process starts with a club identifying that they have a clear desire to introduce, and establish, a sustainable junior coaching programme.
The next stage is for the club to identify a suitable and willing coach (who holds a Scottish Squash or UKCC Level 1 or above) to deliver the junior coaching programme.
A club junior development strategy should then be provided, detailing the delivery plan for the introduction of the junior coaching programme.
Applications close at 11:59pm on Sunday 24th March 2019
All of the above should be included in the ‘Going for Gold – Club Junior Development Programme Application Form’, which can be found below
