World Masters 2016
The 2016 edition of the WSF World Masters Squash Championships is upon us – almost 1,000 players aiming to become World Champion in their category.
Scotland have 8 entrants fighting for Gold!
Rowanna Rowe Women’s over 45’s.
Pauline Douglas [1] and Eunice Bond [3/4] Women’s over 60’s.
Faith Sinclair [3/4] Women’s over 65’s.
Frank Ellis [5/8] Men’s Over 50’s.
Jim Dougal [3/4], John Rae [5/8] & Douglas Moffat [9/12] Men’s Over 65’s.
Congratulations to the competitors of the WSF World Masters Squash Championships.
Scotland won the new award of the small nations trophy – an award for competing nations with nine and under players.
Competitors performed extremely well – Faith Sinclair got to the Women’s over 65 final losing 3-0. Earning a fantastic silver medal finish.
Dougie Moffat lost in the semi final of the classic plate (injured) 3-2 in a vert tight match.
Frank Ellis lost in the semi final of the Men’s over 50 event after having a match point at 10-9 in the fifth. Returning home with the Bronze medal after a walkover in the Bronze medal play-off.
Pauline Douglas and Eunice Bond Women’s over 60 reached their semi finals losing 3-0 and 3-1 respectively. The pair then met in the Bronze medal play-off with Pauline closing out a tough match.
Jim Dougal got to the quarter finals of the Men’s over 65 and John Rae won the over 65 plate.
Rowanna Rowe reached the semi final of the classic plate event losing out 3-0 to the eventual winner.
