Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for coaches

Scottish Squash offer opportunities for coaches to keep their knowledge and delivery up-to-date. These opportunities take place across a variety of settings – squash specific workshops, mentoring, generic coaching workshops – and shall be targeted at coaches who work at levels throughout the Player Development Pathway.

For further information on any of these workshops please contact Scottish Squash – 0131 625 4425 or info@scottishsquash.org

1. EduCare

Scottish Squash recommends that all Squash coaches working directly with children and young people in Squash should have appropriate safeguarding training to be aware of their responsibility to promote best practice and protect children and young people from harm.

Scottish Squash have sourced an online learning programme – EduCare ‘Child Protection in Sport & Active Leisure’, suitable for all working in a sports or active leisure environment.

The programme provides an excellent introduction to safeguarding children and young people and will assist coaches to recognise the early warning signs of possible abuse. The programme comprises five short modules with interactive questionnaires containing all the essential information required to fulfil duty of care. Following completion of the course, successful candidates will receive a certificate accredited by 4Children, Kidscape and Family Lives valid for three years, to evidence learning.

Scottish Squash have negotiated a 15% discount off the list price for members. To purchase and subsequently receive the discount, please click on the following link: http://www.educare.co.uk/programmes/child-protection-sport/?referrerid=4024
