Download Application Form >>> My name is Paul Frank and I am the Scottish Squash Performance Director. One of the key roles of the position is to manage the Senior Performance Programme.
In the last few weeks I have attempted to obtain as much feedback as possible from all members of Scottish Squash regarding the programme as a whole. I have taken all comments on board in an attempt to identify what was successful in the past and what could be improved upon.
I believe that plans for this coming season will build on past seasons experiences and we will see an enjoyable and productive season and a useful platform for future years.
The U/23 Squad
The Squad is geared towards Scotland 's elite younger players. It offers a modern, systematic and holistic approach to player development, analysing specific needs of the player and co-ordinating a comprehensive development programme. The programme is designed to operate in full consultation with players and personal coaches.
Squad members receive the following benefits:
- Free access to the National Squash Centre at Heriot-Watt University during squad sessions
- Coaching from appropriately qualified and experienced staff
- Individual, personalised support and assistance with the planning and evaluation of a comprehensive programme incorporating life skills, tactical, technical, psychological and physical development
- Supervision, coaching and evaluation from coaches at stipulated national and international tournaments
- Funding of mutually agreed national and international tournaments
Scottish Squash is grateful for the continued support from the following partners… To qualify for selection into the U/23 squad players must:
- Be eligible to play for Scotland
- Be ranked in the top four in domestic rankings (except in extraordinary circumstances)
- Demonstrate to the Selection Committee the psychological, physical and technical characteristics necessary to be successful at an international level
- Be prepared to make a commitment to a holistic system of player development, with openness of communication between all players, coaches and parents and
- Be prepared to make a commitment to fulfil the annual competition and training programme of the squad including specified international tournaments and representative events.
The annual programme will incorporate day to day squad sessions as well as a variety of training camps. The PD will co-ordinate a subsidised Sports Science and Sports Medicine Support Programme which is tailored to the individuals stage of development.
Membership of the squad will run from September 1 until April 31.

It may be necessary to conduct trials or interviews in order to make selections for both programmes. I will contact all parties affected by this as soon as is practical.
