National Junior Selection

NATIONAL JUNIOR SELECTION PROCEDURES & CRITERIA 2007/08

In order to be selected to represent Scotland a player must meet the following requirements:

  • Be eligible to represent Scotland
  • Be a member of the Scottish Squash Performance Programme and attend a minimum of 70% of all Performance Programme Squad sessions.
  • During the course of the relevant season, have played in at least ONE domestic junior event in each of the specified quarters of the year.
  • Be within the required age group on the last date of the even
  • Must be individual competitive members of Scottish Squash.

Consideration will be given to:

  • Illness or injury
  • Residence and tournament results from both senior events and junior events outside Scotland (In both cases, the onus is upon the player to provide appropriate information to the National Performance Director in a timely fashion).
  • Play-offs may be used at the discretion of the National Coach.

All selections will made by the National Coach (NC).

NOTES:
All appeals will be dealt with by an appeal committee comprising: National Performance Director (NPD), a designated representative of sportscotland’s Achieving Excellence Team and the East of Scotland Institute of Sport Programme Manager.

After selection, players must sign the standard player contract
