Scotland dogged in Amsterdam.

European Womens Scottish Team 2005 The Scottish Men's and Women's teams were in spectacular form in the European Championships, held April 27-30 in Amsterdam, Holland.

The women's team consisting of Pam Nimmo, Louise Philip, Frania Gillen-Buchert and Lizzie Leitch finished in 4th position. Seeded 8th for the event on the back of last years somewhat disappointing performance, the team fought their way past the 4 and 5 seeds, Germany and Belgium to a semi-final showdown against the host country.

The men's team of John White, Martin Heath, Stuart Crawford, Harry Leitch and Kristen Johnson finished in 5th position. Due to the format of the event the team, seeded 12 for the tournament, were unable to finish any higher and remained undefeated over the five days.

Both teams who benefited from the introduction of younger players should be in strong contention for medals at next years event which will probably be held in Vienna, Austria.
