Rationale for Notes:
These notes are designed to help you as the nominating person
to fill in the attached form, for either the Coach of the
Year Award 2004/05 or the Services to Squash Award, and to
provide as much information as will be relevant to the application.
The more relevant information which you can include on the
form the greater the assistance this will be to the Awards
Panel.
Eligibility for Nomination:
Anyone can nominate individuals for consideration for either
Award. Anyone who is an individual member of, or a member
of a club affiliated to, Scottish Squash is eligible for nomination.
What to Include in Reasons for Nomination:
This is the most important section of the nomination form,
please feel free to include an additional sheet for this section
as required. As well as identifying the different areas and
types of volunteering/coaching the person you are nominating
assists in (such as coaching, events, administration etc),
the duration and intensity of volunteering/coaching over the
relevant time period* is also required.
Please include the number of hours given to volunteering/coaching
in squash per week/month/year over the relevant time period*.
The current position(s) held by the nominee, any previous
positions held over the relevant time period* as well as all
types of more informal ‘helping’ volunteering/coaching
(and the duration and commitment to these positions) throughout
the relevant time period* would also be relevant to the nomination.

your help to ensure that our volunteers and coaches are rewarded
for their invaluable contribution to squash.
Decisions made by the Awards Panel will be final. Details
and brief profile of winners may used for promotional purposes.
Closing date for nominations: Monday 20 June 2005
(* The relevant time period for the Coach of the Year Award
2004/05 relates to any coaching completed throughout the squash
season 2004/05.
* There is no relevant time period for the Services to Squash
Award, since this Award relates to all activities and volunteering
undertaken to support squash, often over a period of many
years.)
