This Child Protection Policy (CPP) applies to all staff,
paid and unpaid, affiliated clubs/members, coaches, officials,
volunteers, Board and Executive members, parents and children.
This CPP applies to children and young people up to the age
of 18.
Scottish Squash is committed to creating and maintaining
the safest environment possible for young people and children
so they can enjoy playing squash.
Scottish Squash will achieve this by:
RECOGNISING that all young people and children have the
right to freedom from abuse and to be treated with respect
and dignity.
RECOMMENDING that all our staff, coaches, officials, and
volunteers are carefully selected and by accepting responsibility
for helping to prevent the abuse of young people and children
in their care.
RESPONDING quickly and appropriately to all suspicions or
allegations of abuse, by providing parents/guardians and children
with the opportunity to voice any concern they might have
and reporting to the relevant authorities.
ENSURING that access to confidential information is restricted
to the person responsible for young people and children or
the appropriate authorities.
REVIEWING the effectiveness of Scottish Squash’s Child
Protection Policy and its activities annually.
PROVIDING a Point of Contact for child safety matters and
liasing between clubs, parents, members and Disclosure Scotland.
Police / Social Work Departments / Local CPP Committees and
Scottish Squash will be the point of contact responsible for
young people and children.
